Letting Go is a true cruiser/racer, designed to safely negotiate the heavy weather of the Baltic Sea in its native Finland yet, thanks to her balsa sandwich construction, light enough to sail the gentlest summer breezes of Long Island Sound. The tri-cabin arraignment with solid doors affords a level of privacy unique in a 37 foot boat of this era. She is well outfitted and ready to sail anywhere. New for the next owner, she is now fitted with a red VC Offshore racing bottom faired to a light gloss. A 2016 professional out-of- the-water survey is available . Baltic Yachts is featured in F. Mate's book "The Worlds Best Sailboats".
For over 35 years Letting Go has frequently been our family home while cruising throughout the Northeast US coast. She has also garnered an enviable race record, having garnered more than 150 trophies over the years. She remains competitive today having won during 2014, her last year of competitive sailing, both her class and the overall trophy for 'vintage' boats in the 235 nm. 2013 Vineyard Race. She was also overall winner of the Stamford YC Overnight Race and placed second in the Around Long Island Race while also being awarded the “Hero Trophy” for that event.
I am now retired, living in Colorado, and so, regrettably, have placed Letting Go for sale.
My multitude of experiences as a resuIt of owning this boat have added a richness to my life that no words that could ever fully express.
I wish the new owner a comparable experience.
